This historic castle was in need of structural repair, as several large cracks in the walls were evident in the Latrine Tower. The cracks were caused by settlement movement and poor rain protection at the top of the wall.
Stronghold Preservation were contacted to provide a discreet design solution to tie the Latrine Tower back to the main castle; the design involved a series of Cintec Anchors.

The Northern Ireland Environment Agency's direct labour team
carried out re-pointing of the stonework, and filled in the 100mm
wide cracks with lime mortar and brick in order to protect the
structure from water ingress, and to locally stabilise the wall.
Stronghold Preservation then diamond drilled and installed a series
of 5metres long Cintec anchors to reconnect the
Latrine Tower to the main castle keep.
Stronghold Preservation are approved installers of Cintec
anchors.
