Rope Access Structural Repairs
Many buildings and structures that
require structural repairs are not necessarily accessible by
traditional means (scaffolding, cranes or cherry pickers), due to
the location or height of the building. Due to this, we at
Stronghold Preservation have our own IRATA trained rope access team
that are also skilled in the use of diamond drills and masonry
repair. Structural repairs caried out by rope access can
often be more cost effective than conventional means, even where
the building is conventionally accessible. Buildings in urban
areas, in particular, can benefit from rope access repairs, due to
the heights of urban buildings, and the inconvenience, and cost, of
scaffolding blocking pavements, or crane hire at off-peak
times.
Rope access is suitable for many types
of structural repair: including Cintec socked anchors, crack stitching, timber
resin repair, and concrete repair.
Stronghold Preservation have been instrumental in carrying out
structural repairs in a number of high profile buildings by rope
access; Dunluce
Castle, Co. Antrim, and Claridges Hotel in
London. We have combined our knowledge of historic buildings
and structural stabilisation with the skill of rope access to
provide a solution.
Obviously when working on the ropes, health and safety is
paramount; especially when combined with using machinery. For
this reason, our technicians have to be highly trained in each
system, as well as proficient 'on the ropes'.
We also have IRATA trained surveyors, so that, if need be, a
surveyor can access the building to assess problems first hand.
