Damp was evident in the Carnegie Library in Belfast; Stronghold Preservation identified the damp as
rising damp, and provided a quotation for both a
chemical damp proof course and
electro osmosis damp proof course. Internal and external walls were found to be suffering from rising damp, and therefore both types of wall had to have a damp course installed.
Further Information
A chemical injection dpc was
installed: 12mm holes were drilled horizontially along the mortar
bed in the brickwork, and centres less than 120mm. The
chemical dpc was injected into the holes, creating a barrier,
preventing the damp from rising.
A 20 year guarantee was issued.
