People
Originally a family business, headed by a husband & wife
team, Stronghold Preservation has since expanded not only their
personnel, but their services. However, the ethos remains; we
are committed to excellence, by providing personal interest to each
project, training our personnel for attention to detail, and
striving to always provide the optimum solution for each project,
and each client. It is through these ideals that we have had
the honour to have worked on many prestigious buildings in Northern
Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Scotland and England.
MR PAUL MARSHALL CIOB, CSRT (Partner)
Paul has over 15 years experience within the preservation
sector; damp and timber repair, waterproofing and structural
repairs, with much of his experience within the conservation
sector; historic churches, castles and listed & heritage
buildings.
Since being made partner in 2003, Paul has driven the company
into researching for new and innovative systems, allowing the
company to progressively become a market leader in preservation;
which in turn has enabled Stronghold Preservation to gather
experience on a number of iconic restoration projects: for example,
Ballycopeland Windmill,
Co. Down; Malahide Castle, Co.
Dublin; Claridges Hotel,
London; Mount Stewart House,
Newtownards, Co. Down.
Paul has a diploma in building site management (CIOB), and is a
Certificated Surveyor in Remedial Treatment (CSRT), through the
British Wood Preserving & Damp Proofing Association.
Paul has managed technically challenging projects, such as Dunluce
Castle, Co. Antrim, whereby the structural repair
works to the cliff face were necessary by rope access
(abseiling); as a result, Paul has since completed a rope access
course, allowing him to survey conventionally inaccessible
buildings.
